David is a designer, researcher, and alum of the cognitive systems program.
They are interested in designing subsymbolic natural language interfaces between social agents (human, pet, robot, or otherwise). Some examples of their past research includes exploring the role of sound symbolism in affective human-robot-interaction, utilizing speech to animate simple robots, and enhancing the intelligibility of speech in noise through our sense of touch.
