The Communicating Mind and Body

Yadong Liu is a PhD student in Linguistics at the University of British Columbia.

His research focuses on unveiling the unknowns in human speech production using techniques from experimental phonetics and computational modelling. The kind of questions he is interested in include a. what are the physiological postures in speech production? b. the role of multi-sensory feedback in speech learning c. how does computational modelling help with generating speech sounds from other parts of the body like hands?

He works in the Interdisciplinary Speech Research Lab as a researcher.
