Research Themes: The Communicating Mind and Body
Nicole is a third year speech science student, minoring in applied animal biology. She is very excited about the variety of disciplines and interests she has been able to include in her bachelor’s degree.
Beyond classes, she is involved in clubs as the Vice-president of UBC Slam Poetry, the Fundraising Manager for UBC Pre-vet and Animal Welfare club, the Co-Chair for the UBC Animal Welfare Conference, and the Chair of the Language Science Undergraduate Research Conference. She also works part time as a Research Assistant for the Interdisciplinary Speech Research Lab at UBC, a Youth Education Coordinator at the BCSPCA, and as a Behaviour Interventionist for Autism BC.
Nicole has ambitions for a variety of potential careers including speech language pathology and public health, but hopes to include her love for animals in some capacity. Nicole has two border-collies whom she spoils and in her free time enjoys karaoke, crafts, board games, and bubble tea!
She is very excited to be a part of the Language Science Steering Committee and to connect with both faculty and undergraduate students.
