Research Themes:  Language, Sustainability and Transnationalism

Fiana Kawane (she/her) is a PhD candidate in English Language and Literatures, and a Sessional Lecturer at the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality & Social Justice at the University of British Columbia. She received her MA in English literature from the University of Toronto.

Kawane's research areas include modern South Asia, 20th and 21st century global anglophone poetry, political ecology, and affect theory. Her broader research interests focus on the conditions that produce and circulate global anglophone poetry and its readings.
