Asma Afreen completed her M.Ed. in TESL in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, UBC. A summary of her M.Ed. graduating paper was presented in an LLED research seminar in September, 2017, which is now available on YouTube.
She is a doctoral student in LLED, UBC, under the supervision of Dr. Bonny Norton. She is interested to investigate the ways in which community agencies can use Storybooks Canada to support the language learning needs of immigrant and refugee children.
Her research interests include identity and investment, teacher education, and digital literacies.
