Research Themes:  Evolving Language in an Information Economy

Mathias Lécuyer in an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia. His research is centered around machine learning systems, with a specific focus on applications that provide rigorous guarantees of robustness, privacy, and security. His contributions combine practical and theoretical improvements to core tools (differential privacy, causal inference, reinforcement learning) to enable new applications and use-cases (ML attacks/defenses, privacy preserving data management, system decisions optimization).
