Haykaz Mangardich is a postdoctoral research fellow funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research council of Canada (SSHRC). He received his Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Mark A. Sabbagh at Queen’s University, where he held a National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Graduate Scholarship. His research uses behavioral and brain electrophysiological (EEG/ERP) methods to examine the nature of word representations in children’s word learning, with a focus on how children use social information provided by speakers (such as eye-gaze and pointing) to rapidly learn new words.
