Ph.D.  in Language and Literacy Education (Berkeley), former elementary teacher and administrator, former Head of 2 UBC Departments (LLED and ECPS) founder of BC ESL Assessment Consortium, winner of UBC President's Award for Education Through the Media, March 2009, the British Columbia Deans of Education Association, 2008/2009 Media Contributor of the Year Award, and UBC Language Sciences member.
