Isabelle Delage-Béland is Lecturer of French. Before joining UBC in 2020, she taught several language, grammar, literature, and writing courses in Quebec (at Université de Montréal and Université Laval) and in Ontario (at Brock University). In the Department of French, Hispanic & Italian Studies, she teaches French at various levels, and she coordinates FREN 401 & FREN 402 (Upper-Intermediate French I & II). She is also involved in the Centre de la Francophonie de UBC.
Isabelle holds a Ph.D. in French Studies from Université de Montréal (SSHRC, 2012-2015). From 2018 to 2020, she conducted a postdoctoral research project at Université Laval (FRQSC, 2018-2020). Her research focuses primarily on poetics and history of brief narratives during the Middle Ages (13th-15th century). She is now working on her first book, tentatively entitled Ni fable ni estoire. Fabliaux et fictions mêlées.
