Dr. Florence Yoon

I work in ancient Greek language and literature. I'm currently working on the roles of speech, silence, and language (as potential speech) in constructing degrees of character and "mindfulness" in Greek literature, looking at the intersection of conventional and naturalistic limitations on speech for e.g. children, heralds/messengers, non-Greeks, and animals. My favourite Greek construction is the articular infinitive.
