Research Themes: The Communicating Mind and Body
Eric Margolis is a professor of philosophy at University of British Columbia. His research focuses on the nature of human concepts, how they are acquired, and what this can tell us about the fundamental structure of the mind. He is especially interested in the role of language in thought and whether language is essential to the formation of distinctively human cognitive capacities, such as the capacity to represent and reason about precise numerical quantities.
