Dr. Padmapriya Kandhadai


Research Themes:  The Communicating Mind and Body

Dr. Padmapriya Kandhadai is a faculty member in the Department of Computing Studies and Information Systems at Douglas College, specializing in Data Sciences, Web technologies and applications, Mobile Application Development and UX/UI Design. She received her M. Sc. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and her PhD. in Cognitive Psychology from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Her research focuses on language development with a particular focus on bilingual acquisition early in infancy and childhood.  She previously worked as a research associate at the Infant Studies Centre, University of British Columbia, and taught courses on Cognitive Science in the interdisciplinary undergraduate program of Cognitive Systems at UBC.
