Dr. Ian Stavness is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. He directs the Biomedical Imaging & Graphics lab with research focusing on 3D biomechancial simulation, image analysis and visualization. Dr. Stavness is an OpenSim Fellow in neuro-musculoskeletal modeling and simulation and its translation to rehabilitation medicine. His research focuses on using computer simulation to reveal features of anatomical structure and biomechanics that underlie human movement. One of his main interests is understanding the relationship between vocal tract biomechanics and speech motor control.
