Elise McClay
Research Themes: The Communicating Mind and Body
Elise completed her MA Linguistics at UBC, with twin research interests in Indigenous language revitalization and semantics/prosody interactions. She worked on two main projects: a collaboration exploring English imperative intonation (with Molly Babel, Megan Keough, and Lisa Matthewson), and her thesis research about how to express focus with word order and prosody in Ktunaxa question-answer pairs. Elise grew up in Alberta and studied for her BA in Linguistics at McGill University, where she then worked for two years on various research projects.
