Overview

The Language Sciences Institute is looking for a steering committee member (or members) to serve as a lead (or co-leads) for the research challenge area Reimagining Public Discourse.

Roles & Responsibilities 

Faculty members will serve a three-year term, renewable once.

Eligibility 

To serve as a challenge lead or co-lead, you must be a tenure-track faculty member (research or teaching stream) or research fellow at UBCV or UBCO. To apply, please submit the following by 8:00am Friday, Feb 23rd to: language.sciences@ubc.ca 

Materials 

Materials will be reviewed by the current LangSci co-directors and steering committee members. Committee members may conduct interviews with incumbents in order to reach a decision if the number of volunteers necessitates it. 

Recognition of Service

Language Sciences recognizes that members of the four federal employment equity groups and early career researchers face increased service burdens. Steering committee members who are Assistant Professors, or who are members of one of the four federal employment equity groups, are eligible for one course buyout per three-year service term.
