Language Sciences is pleased to welcome Mona Chu as the institute's new Communications Specialist. Prior to joining Language Sciences Institute, Mona has a decade of experience in journalism and communications in the cultural field. As a communications consultant, she customized physical and digital campaigns for esteemed clients in the cultural industry, such as consulates, university departments, and international museums. She wishes to facilitate understanding and connection through thoughtful communications.
In addition to communications, Mona is passionate about interdisciplinary and intercultural education. She co-organized service-learning experiences around some of Asia’s biggest community-enhancing art festivals, such as the Setouchi Triennale in Japan and the Loei Art Festival in Thailand. She is keen to foster dialogues across different fields, and to support learning opportunities in such areas.
Mona completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Hong Kong, majoring in English Literature and Politics. She also holds a Master’s degree from King’s College London in Performing Studies. Her academic and career interests lie in communication, community formation, sound and movements, oral history preservation, and narratives.
