Want the chance to win $500 in research seed funding? Then join our fall member event!
Learn about the five Research Grand Challenges in our Global Research Excellence Institutes application, discuss future research directions with Challenge hosts, and go in the draw to win research seed funding by submitting a proposal title. We’ll be hosting the event on gather.town in six separate rooms, so you can choose your Challenge (and socialize in the watercooler room):
Room 1: Simulating Languaging Bodies (hosted by Sid Fels & Bryan Gick)
Room 2: Mapping Language Acquisition & Decline (hosted by Raymond Ng)
Room 3: Enhancing literacy (hosted by Janet Werker)
Room 4: Supporting Community-Engaged Language Survivance (hosted by Daisy Rosenblum and Christine Schreyer)
Room 5: Reimagining Public Discourse (hosted by Heidi Tworek)
Room 6: Watercooler room (host Ella Fund-Reznicek). Be in to win $500 of seed funding for research by submitting a proposal title with another member (or potential member!) from a different department to the room’s host. And, we’re offering a second $500 for topics related to equity, diversity, and inclusion so make sure to flag if it is related to equity, diversity and inclusion work to go into the second lottery. Everyone is welcome to participate! Please note: each project must have at least one faculty member involved, as only faculty members can act as PIs.
And stay tuned for the Language Sciences full research seed funding competition, to be announced shortly!
