The Language Sciences Institute is welcoming applications from new and returning graduate student and postdoctoral fellows to join our Steering Committee. We are looking for two new members to join our steering committee for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2034 academic years.

  • Participate in other research, knowledge mobilization, community engagement, and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives of the Steering Committee as they arise and pertain to your interests
  • Gain leadership and academic governance experience, and receive mentorship from fellow Steering Committee members

  • Participate in the planning and execution of the annual Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellow Research Day
  • Identify and develop programming to enhance LangSci graduate student and postdoctoral fellow professional development, research training, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration (with support from LangSci coordinator and related staff)

To ensure equal opportunities for highly qualified graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in serving the University community in this capacity, the Language Sciences Initiative will provide a stipend of up to $9,000/year of service. In particular, we encourage graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are IBPOC or members of other racialized or marginalized groups (including those who are differently abled or neurodiverse) to apply.
