Research Commons March FIRETalk: Language Arts and Sciences

March 4, 2016

The UBC Library Research Commons and the Language Sciences Initiative are teaming up for the March FIREtalk, Language Arts and Sciences. At a FIREtalk (Facilitated Interdisciplinary Research Exchange) grad students from across UBC make short presentations and/or participate in interdisciplinary discussion centred on a theme. For this FIREtalk, we invite students exploring language through any approach (think everything from studying babies to data mining newspapers to modelling the vocal tract) to share their work, questions, and insights.

This FIREtalk will take place on Wednesday, March 30 from 4-6 pm in room 216 of Koerner Library. In addition to being the final FIREtalk of the 2015-2016 academic year, it’s also the first graduate student activity that the Language Sciences Initiative is involved in.

Pitch your presentation online, or by e-mail to research.commons@ubc.ca; to attend as an audience member, register here. Can’t present in person? Ask about Skyping in!
