Language Sciences steering committee co-chair Bryan Gick will be representing UBC at the Universitas 21 Global Research Alliance in Language (GRAIL) workshop April 25-26 in Edinburgh, Scotland. This workshop aims to develop a language science initiative for the U21 group, a global network of research universities. The particular focus of this workshop will be on language and global mobility: this encompasses both the mobility of researchers studying language, and the role of language in the global mobility of populations, including refugees and economic migrants. We look forward to seeing the outcomes!
