Research Themes: Language, Sustainability and Transnationalism, The Communicating Mind and Body
Xuan is a PhD student in Audiology and Speech Sciences at UBC, working with Stefka Marinova-Todd. She holds a B.A. in Japanese literature from Wuhan University (China) and a M.A. in second language acquisition from Ritsumeikan University (Japan). Xuan has been conducting neurolinguistic studies on bilingual language development and bilingual cognitive advantage in China, Japan and Canada. She is currently working at the Bilingualism Research Lab on a large-scale four-year longitudinal project with children in early French immersion in Vancouver.
