Research Themes:  Evolving Language in an Information Economy, Language, Sustainability and Transnationalism

Jonathan Ferreira is a UBC PhD candidate in Language and Literacy Education. His doctoral research focuses on justice-oriented approaches to assessing disciplinary learning communicated through digital multimodal composition in secondary schools. He holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Brazil) and an MA in Literacy Education from UBC. His research interests include multimodality, multiliteracies, multilingualism, and culturally sustaining and justice-oriented pedagogies.
