Language Sciences is delighted to celebrate Dr Christine Schreyer's latest win for the Killam Teaching Prize at UBC Okanagan! Dr Schreyer is well loved by her students for her enthusiasm and caring approach. Her renowned research also bridges different disciplines and engages various communities. Working closely with Indigenous communities, Dr. Schreyer supports language revitalization efforts and recently edited the Dictionaries: The Journal of the Dictionary Society of North America which focused on the reclamation of Indigenous languages through the collaborative approach of dictionary-building. Community projects are often integrated into her curriculum to provide hands-on learning and reflection opportunities. Through these practices, Dr. Schreyer cultivates respect and appreciation for diversed perspectives.
